Milk Dud Cookies

Whenever one of my friends travel to the States I ask them to bring me back some candy and Milk Duds are on top of that list. To be honest I'm usually not a fan of caramel but when I was an exchange student in Colorado (years ago) my host mom introduced me to Milk Dud cookies and I was sold.

Baking temperature : 350°F or 175°C       Bake time: 9-11 min       Yield: 32 cookies approximately

Ingredients

1 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
Some sugar for dipping
1 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Milk duds

Directions

  • Cream together the butter and sugar. Beat until fluffy, then add peanut butter.
  • Whisk the eggs and add previous mix. Stir until well combined
  • Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix.
  • Take about a table spoon of the cookie dough, place a milk dud in the middle and dip the cookie dough in sugar.
  • Place the cookie on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F or 175°C for 9-11 min.

Enjoy!

Look mum no hands! Clerkenwell

During our London trip we were staying in Clerkenwell, I wasn't familiar with the area but we discovered some great places to grab coffee and have breakfast. Look mum no hands! was by far our favorite, hands down. It happens to be not only a cafe but also a bike shop.

I must confess that even though I ride a bike on a daily basis back home, I don't feel brave enough to ride a bike around in London traffic.

Fresh fruit and fresh baked goods.

Gorgeous latte art.

Wifi.

And bikes everywhere.

The burgundy leopard fedora

When I was little I used to wear hats all the time, for some reason I grew out of it but I think I might just be falling back in love with hats again. The leopard fedora is just that bit of extra my basic outfit needed :)

Here's what I wore to a friend's backyard BBQ.

London random

Just a random post from our visit to London. Doing the tourist thing.

Starting off the day with some much needed coffee...

..while this guy kept me company :)

Like I said, doing the tourist thing.

Squeeze in a tiny bit of shopping.

Trading in the smartphone selfie snaps for an old skool photo booth picture.
Pretty tricky I must say..

Ending the day with a smile :)

The Breakfast Club, Spitalfields

Couldn't go on a London trip without having breakfast at the Breakfast Club. The nearest Breakfast Club from where Claire and I were staying is in Spitalfields. We had worked up an appetite so didn't take too many pictures, we just wanted to dig in.

What to order?? Decisions...decisions..

And of course enjoy a free wifi moment, while we waited for our food.

I ended up having Huevos al Benny and Claire went for the Half Monty.

The Breakfast Club never fails to impress,
we both left the place feeling stuffed and ready to explore Shoreditch :)

Crop top & chucks in Shoreditch

Jacket: Supertrash Crop top: H&M Shirt: H&M Jeans: Topshop (Regular | Petite)

Took a quick outfit picture on our way to breakfast in Shoreditch.

When in London I always like to purchase some new Converse because they are cheaper than they are on the mainland. I also just bought these petite jeans a day before at Topshop. I don't know what the thing is with new clothes but it just makes me want to wear them asap :)

P.s. I really need to learn to hold my tummy when wearing crop tops :$

Camden

During our stay in London we planned to visit several markets and of course we couldn't leave out the Camden market. It's always flooded with tourist but my friend Claire had never been before, so it was definitely worth a visit. We tried some food, Claire did a little shopping and we admired some of the street art that Camden has to offer.

I was able to resist buying anything new but I couldn't resist trying some of the food!

I was first introduced to nitro ice cream a few years ago at work but I had never seen a place sell it before. So when I came across a place called CHIN CHIN LABS and I read the sign saying 'Nitro ice' I was sold and just had to pop in for some nitro ice cream :) Definitely worth a try!

It's bye bye for now Camden...
